ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Flower Foods has issued a voluntary recall for hamburger and hot dog buns sold at several retailers.

The company said it issued the recall after finding small pieces of hard plastic in production equipment. 


The products were sent to retailers like Walmart and Aldi in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

They were sold under brand names including 7-Eleven, Great Value, Home Pride, IGA, Publix and Wonder.

The company said there have been no reports of injuries or illnesses.

If you have any of these items, you are urged to throw them out or return them to the store for a refund.  Consumers with questions may call Flowers Foods' Consumer Relations Center at 1-866-245-8921.
