CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) -- Are you having a hard time finding ways to beat the heat? Well, News10NBC's Rob Speta has a few tips in mind when trying to stay cool.

Have you thought about wakeboarding? Roseland Wake Park in Canandaigua offers the sport for beginners as a new way to cool off in the heat.

"Basically, what we do here is all sorts of water sports. We do wakeboarding, water skiing, kneeboarding.  It is really nice for beginners because you don't have to wait for the boat to come around every time. We can just pick you up and keep going with our lessons," said Fred Ball, manager of the park.

The fact that the park is not located on Canandaigua Lake is great for beginners for a few reasons. For starters, the wakeboarding course runs on a trolley system meaning you do not need a boat. It is also sheltered which protects it from the weather.

This is just one more way to beat the heat the upcoming heat wave. If the lake is not for you, maybe you have the option to get out and jump into a pool this upcoming week as heat indices push into the triple digits. The key thing to remember: stay cool.
