HOLLEY, N.Y. (WHEC) — Health officials say a kitten found in Orleans County was infected with rabies and died. They are looking for anyone who may have come in contact with the animal or its littermates.
According to the Orleans County Health Department, animal control was called to pickup an injured kitten in the Village of Holley on September 2. The female kitten was 6 to 8 weeks old with white and brown fur.
Anyone who may have come in contact with the infected kitten or a kitten that could have come from the same litter is asked to contact the Orleans County Health Department at (585) 589-3278. The health department is reminding people not to touch wild or stray animals because they may have rabies.
