Students evacuated from Eastridge High School after threat

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) — Eastridge High School was evacuated after receiving a threat Friday morning. 

Just before 12:30 p.m., the East Irondequoit School District tweeted that "Eastridge has been determined safe and students are returning to school. The day will resume as normal."

During the evacuation, school officials say students were transported on buses to the parking lot of Culver Ridge Plaza across the street.

East Ridge Road was temporarily closed to traffic Friday morning.

News10NBC's Jennifer Lewke is on scene, and working to learn new information about the threat.

Irondequoit Police, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, and New York State Police are currently investigating.
