Pedestrian critically injured after being struck in Rochester

A 26-year-old Monroe County man suffered critical injuries after he was hit by a car on Alexander Street in Rochester late Friday night.

Rochester Police said that shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Alexander Street and Park Avenue, and found the victim.

Paramedics transported the man to Strong Hospital. He’s being treated for his injuries and remains in critical condition as of early Saturday morning.

Investigators do not believe that alcohol played a role in the crash.

The 28-year-old female driver, a Monroe County resident, stopped after her car hit the victim. As of early Saturday morning, Rochester Police said that no charges or tickets for the driver are currently anticipated for this accident.
