ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — In Monroe County, voter turnout was higher this year compared to local elections past.
That's even before the board of elections added in how many people voted early.
According to the Monroe County Board of Elections, 35% of registered voters cast their votes as of 8 p.m. on Tuesday and over the last two weeks during the early voting period.
This was the first year New Yorkers were able to vote early.
