A landlord being sued by the City of Rochester over code violations in his apartment buildings is striking back and claiming he's being unfairly picked on.
In May, the City of Rochester formally asked a judge to order that Peter Hungerford fix violations in his buildings on Thurston Road and Chili Avenue or bring in a receiver to take the buildings over.
On Thursday, Hungerford filed his response, saying he's making repairs and there's no need for anyone to take over the buildings.
His papers list five other buildings in the city with more violations he says have not been threatened.
This case is scheduled to go to court on next Monday.
