Husky rescues RIT student hiking in Alaska

A Rochester Institute of Technology student is safe after her mother says she was rescued by a husky. 

Alaska State Police say Amelia Milling was hiking alone Tuesday near Anchorage, Alaska when she slid down a slope and hit some rocks.

That's when Milling's mother, Sharon, says a husky guide dog in the area brought her back to the trail. 

The next day, Milling slipped into a river and the husky helped her get back to shore. The husky then stayed with Milling until rescue crews were able to get to her.  

Sharon is calling the husky her daughter's guardian angel.
