ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York State is no stranger to political scandals, with the most recent being the resignation of Gov.Andrew Cuomo, so News10NBC is giving you an In-Depth look at some of what we’ve seen over the past two-decade.

2006

State Comptroller Alan Hevesi resigned, and shortly after he pleaded guilty to defrauding the government.

2008
Governor Elliot Spitzer resigned after being caught in a prostitution sting. A few months later, state Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno stepped down amid federal corruption charges, and he was convicted.

2011
Congressman Anthony Weiner resigned after he sent a lewd picture of himself over Twitter.

2015

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos both resigned amid federal corruption charges. Both were found guilty and sentenced to prison.

2018

State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman resigned after being accused of physically abusing women.

2019

Local Congressman Chris Collins resigned after pleading guilty to federal insider trading charges.
