In-Depth: Rochester not alone in violent Fourth of July weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — After a violent holiday weekend in Rochester, News10NBC went in-depth to see if other cities experienced the same thing.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, at least 150 people were shot and killed this Fourth of July weekend and more than 400 shootings across the country.

In New York, 39 people were shot and killed in the last 72 hours.

In Rochester, three people were killed over the holiday weekend.

Late Friday night, 43-year-old Sherrice Jackson was shot and killed on Seward Street.

Early Sunday morning, 16-year-old Keon Martin was shot in the School 34 rear parking lot. He died from his injuries at the hospital.

Then, Monday morning, 52-year-old Ted Morris, Sr. was stabbed to death at his apartment on Resolute Circle.
