Darren Johnson was just 31-years-old. He was shot multiple times and run over on Oct. 25, 1997.

For the first time, we're hearing from the victim's oldest daughter.

Nikki Rudd: What do you think happened to your father?

Carlise Scott: Besides that him being murdered, it's a whole lot of questions.

Scott was just 13 years old when her father was killed. She met us at Oakwood Cemetery in Penfield where he's buried in an unmarked grave.

Carlise Scott: In my mind, I think it was a setup situation.

News10NBC is getting an exclusive look at never before seen pictures from the crime scene. It happened on Boys Club Place off Ford Street near 490 around 3 a.m. Veteran homicide investigator Gary Galetta was there.

Investigator Gary Galetta: It's a dark road. It's next to that kind of wooded area in front of the ice rink.

Johnson's Acura was stopped in the road -- still running. Investigator Galetta believes another car pulled up alongside him, and Johnson got out of his car.

Inv. Galetta: There were multiple shots fired.

Nikki Rudd: Do you believe the suspect could have ran him over as well?

Inv. Galetta: It's entirely possible. Yeah.

Nikki Rudd: That's brutal.

Inv. Galetta: Yeah, that is.

Johnson's body was dragged a short distance. Some people driving by found him in the road. He still had a pulse, but it was too late.

Nikki Rudd: What do you think the motive could be?

Inv. Galetta: That is a million dollar question.

Investigator Galetta does not believe robbery was the motive. Johnson's gold necklace was left in the road, and money wasn't taken.

Johnson was a bouncer and worked a house party earlier that night where he kicked several people out. When the party was over, Johnson stopped at Nick Tahou's -- not far from the scene of the crime.

Inv. Galetta: In the front seat of his car, was still the bag of food from Nick Tahou's that he had just purchased.

Investigators tell News10NBC Johnson was involved in some illegal activity.

Inv. Galetta: He had been purchasing counterfeit money and distributing it. Small quantities. Sometimes doing something like that, you can make some enemies.

Another possibility? Investigators say Johnson was a lady's man and dated multiple women at the same time. But still, no suspects.

Nikki Rudd: How hard is it for you that so much time has gone by and no arrests have been made?

Carlise Scott: It's very hard because I have siblings that are now asking me questions, and I don't have answers for them.

Someone out there can give Carlise Scott and her family the closure they need.
