An investigation has begun into the death of a four-year-old girl in the City of Rochester on Saturday night, although initial findings suggest a medical issue.
According to the Rochester Police Department, Fire and EMS arrived at a home on Skylane Drive around 10:46 p.m. on Saturday for the report of an unresponsive child. The four-year-old, who was visiting the home with her mother, was transported to Rochester General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead about an hour later.
An IMPACT team from the police department, including a member of Child Protectives, has begun to investigate the incident due to the age of the child. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
