ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) -- Joe Dady, a beloved talent of the Rochester roots and folk music scene, died on Saturday at the age of 61. He had been fighting a form of leukemia since last October.
He and his brother John performed together as the Dady brothers, logging in 7,000 performances over 45 years. Their Irish heritage influenced much of their music.
Both brothers were versatile musicians as seen by the number of instruments they played--from the banjo to the uillean pipes.
Dady got his start by playing in local bands and continued performing throughout the area.
Funeral servcies are yet to be announced.
