Judge grants request for Rep. Collins to skip next court appearance

Congressman Chris Collins will not appear in federal court next week.

A judge granted his request to be excused from his status conference.

Instead, his attorneys will represent him next Thursday in New York City. They say Collins will be in the Buffalo area that day because October is a district work month for Congress.

Collins is facing charges of insider trading and lying to the FBI. He pleaded not guilty to the charges back in August.
