No verdict was reached Wednesday in the trial of a woman accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend to death in Livingston County.
Prosecutors say Danielle Allen, the daughter of a New York State police inspector, killed Marcus Postell in November 2016.
In closing arguments Wednesday, the defense argued that Allen acted in self-defense while prosecutors call it a reckless and deliberate act.
If convicted of manslaughter in the second degree, Allen will face up to 15 years in prison. The judge told jurors they can convict Allen of a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide.
Jury deliberations will resume Thursday morning.
