Kendall man sentenced in connection to carbon monoxide deaths

KENDALL, N.Y. (WHEC) — An Orleans County man will spend 60 days in jail for the deaths of a mother and son in the Town of Kendall.

David Wiley, Jr. admitted to running a gas powered generator inside a closed garage during a power outage under the bedrooms of Joan Gilman and her son Richard Gilman, Jr. last April. 


Both victims died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

In addition to time in the Orleans County Jail, Wiley will also be on probation for three years.

District Attorney Joseph Cardone said this was at the request of the Gilman family.
