ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A lakeshore flood warning was issued for Wayne County from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 22.

This was due to a few factors, but the main reason is a northwest wind that is set up on Thursday. This wind will be around 10-20 miles per hour, which is enough to push the already high lake levels along the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario.

The flooding will only impact those living along the immediate lakeshore and inlets near the lake. The largest impact being in the Sodus Point and Sodus Bay area.

Water levels remain high but thanks to a high outflow out of the lake we are slowly seeing a decrease in its depth.
