LIVINGSTON COUNTY, N.Y. (WHEC) -- K9 Hutch with the Livingston County Sheriff's Office is more prepared now than ever before to hit the streets.

K9 Hutch is now equipped with a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from Livingston County Sheriff's Foundation Inc.

The non-profit, established in 2018, provides financial support to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office by purchasing needed equipment, education, training or other needs that are outside of budgeted taxpayer-based funding.

The donation of $1,000, provided by Dave Steen of Johncox Trucking through the Livingston County Sheriff's Foundation, paid for Hutch's protective vest to keep him safe during his duties.

But K9 Hutch isn't alone.

Last week, K9 Brock with the Brockport Police Department received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a donation from the Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
