Local game developers meet at RIT

HENRIETTA, N.Y. (WHEC)- Rochester game developers met up on Wednesday to show off and talk about projects they're working on.

The meeting of the minds- known as the "ROC Game Dev Meetup"- happens every first Wednesday of the month at Magic Spell Studios at RIT.

The meeting provides a platform for students, hobbyists and professionals to talk shop.

"We're creating incredible talent here," says Rob Mostyn, the director of ROC Game Dev.

"On top of that, we have local studios making their own games, making IPs (intellectual properties) and even workingfor clients like Nickelodeon and Disney."

ROC Game Dev aims to give feedback and provide a supportive community, making Rochester a hotspot for game development.
