Man arrested for assaulting multiple residents, workers at Rochester group home

A man was arrested Friday after he allegedly assaulted multiple residents and workers of a Rochester group home. 

Rochester Police say the 31-year-old man assaulted at least seven residents and workers at Edgerton Square, a DePaul group home, on Dewey Avenue.

The man was taken into custody and charged with numerous counts of assault. 

The victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment. Police say, at this point, it does not appear that anyone suffered life-threatening injuries. 

DePaul issued the following statement regarding the incident: 

"HIPAA confidentiality laws prevent us from commenting about the specifics of the case, but we are cooperating fully with the authorities to assure a positive resolution. The safety and well-being of our residents is always our primary concern."
