Man convicted of manslaughter in deadly shooting on Lyell Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A jury convicted a Rochester man on multiple charges in the shooting death of another man on Lyell Avenue.

Tremaine Coley, 39, was convicted Thursday of first-degree manslaughter, first-degree robbery, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Prosecutors say Coley shot Tasmere Kenard, 23, on Lyell Avenue near Whitney Street back in September of 2018. While Kenard lay dying the street, Coley and Delvern Duran robbed him

Coley will be sentenced on May 30. He faces up to 25 years to life in prison.

Duran, 39, was convicted of first-degree robbery in the case and also faces up to 25 years to life behind bars. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 16.
