Man jumps off roof while fleeing police

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A man jumped off the roof of the RG&E building on West Avenue while fleeing police Sunday morning.

Rochester Police responded to a call of a man shooting a gun on the corner of Maple and Hague Streets around 11:30 a.m.

Police say the suspect then fled the scene on foot. Police located him at the train tracks and began to pursue him.

The suspect then climbed to the top of the vacant RG&E building on West Avenue before jumping down.

Police caught the suspect in the vacant parking lot.

Nobody was injured by the gunfire or during the chase.

Rochester Police are still investigating the incident and have not formally charged the suspect.
