Dean Klejment, 52, was convicted of burglary in the second degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, petit larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree.
Prosecutors say Klejment committed several residential burglaries and car larcenies in Irondequoit, Pittsford, Perinton, and the City of Rochester.
Klejment has been incarcerated for the majority of his adult life, according to prosecutors.
He was sentenced as a mandatory persistent felony offender due to his multiple previous violent felony convictions.
