The man who admitted to killing an elderly man in Greece was sentenced Monday morning at the Hall of Justice.
Omar Quarles will serve 20 years behind bars plus 5 years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to manslaughter and robbery charges.
Police say Quarles got into a violent fight with 86-year-old Charles Fields at the victim's home on Maiden Lane back in October of 2016. News10NBC is told the two were friends.
Fields died from his injuries three weeks later.
Quarles was arrested on an unrelated burglary charge less than 24 hours after the fight.
