Man arrested for Henrietta bank robbery

HENRIETTA, N.Y. (WHEC) —The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has arrested one man for a bank robbery in Henrietta.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies were sent to the Bank of America in the Southtown Plaza around 3 p.m. for a report of a bank robbery. Deputies say the suspect passed the teller a note and then made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Darren Read, 51, was detained as a person of interest at the Applebee's on West Henrietta Road shortly after the robbery.

Through an investigation, police later identified Read as the suspect.

Read is charged with robbery and grand larceny. He was arraigned in Henrietta Town Court and sent to Monroe County Jail with no bail.
