ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Newly elected Monroe County Executive Adam Bello will hold his first county legislature meeting on Tuesday night.

The Democrat beat out former County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo back in November.

At his swearing-in ceremony earlier this month, Bello promised a "new era."

At the meeting Tuesday night, News10NBC asked him about how the state budget could affect Monroe County after a comment made by Gov. Andrew Cuomo during his 2020 State of the State address.

The governor said more responsibility could fall on the Counties.

"As a steward of the county's finances and taxpayers' finances, this is obviously a big thing that's on our mind, it's on the minds of county executives across the state, but like I said it's hard," Bello said. "As we're concerned about it, we also just need to see what the proposal is first."

The budget proposal is expected later this month.

Bello says he will be going back to Albany in the coming weeks.
