Monroe County Sheriff's deputy arrested on robbery, assault charges

A Monroe County Sheriff's jail deputy was arrested after allegedly beating and robbing a victim in a parking lot in Greece.

Greece Police say Brandon Guidice, 21, and Selina Sonmez, 20, both of Greece, beat and robbed a person in a parking lot on Latta Road around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers say the suspects knew the victim, and Sonmez violated an order of protection. Both are charged with robbery, grand larceny, assault, and aggravated criminal contempt. 

Guidice is a Monroe County Sheriff's jail deputy. He has been suspended with pay.

Sonmez was remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash bail and $10,000 bond. Guidice was released at arraignment.
