Deputies then responded to Leibeck Road in Riga as part of the investigation and found Florence Ford unresponsive.

Throughout the investigation, deputies tracked down Ford Jr. near Erie, Pennsylvania. State Police in Pennsylvania found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a vehicle.

The sheriff's office says Ford used a .40 caliber gun to shoot and kill himself. It turns out, the gun was legally owned and registered to Ford's wife.
