ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The family of the boy who suddenly died at Edison Tech High School on Tuesday has identified him to News10NBC.
Authorities say on Tuesday, the student who collapsed in gym class was taken to the hospital where he died. We’re told by his family the 16-year-old was Zadane Wright.
Kaci Jones spoke to Zadane’s mother and aunt.
His aunt, Ton-shae Griggs said, "Zadane was a people person he was very optimistic, he was very friendly, he was full of life, full of adventure, full of laughs."
His mother, Terryann Walker said, "I sent him to school and he's not here anymore and it's very hurtful."
His family says Zadane just turned 16 last Saturday, and they’re completely heartbroken and shocked by this loss.
His mother tells News10NBC that he had no known health problems and had just passed a physical.
She says he loved to play basketball, was a new student at Edison and had been going to School of the Arts before.
The family says they are considering legal action.
