Naples couple arrested for assault after neglecting children's dental care

A Naples couple was arrested for assault on Friday because the Ontario County Sheriff's Office says they failed to provide their children appropriate dental care.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Raymond J. Royer and Heather L. Royer- both 37- failed to provide their children proper dental care between January 3, 2017 and June 12, 2018. They also failed to comply with dentist recommendations for care.

The Sheriff's Office press release says that the children- ages 4, 5, 7, and 10- sustained "protracted and permanent dental conditions and substantial pain." 

Both Raymond and Heather Royer face four charges each of Assault in the Second Degree- one for each child. The two were arraigned at the Ontario County Central Arraignment Processing, during which time they were released to the probation department on pre-trial release.
