Nearly 800K folding chairs and barstools sold at Walmart recalled due to fall hazard

(WHEC) — Nearly 800,000 Mainstay folding chairs and barstools sold at Walmart are being recalled due to a fall hazard.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Cheyenne Products recalled 795,000 Mainstay folding metal padded chairs and barstools after they received 41 reported incidents of the weld connecting the legs to the bottom of the chair breaking, resulting in 19 injuries, including four reports of fractures and one report of a torn ligament.

The chairs and barstools were sold at Walmart stores and online from January 2014 through April 2021.

The recall involves multiple styles of the Mainstay brand. You can tell if your chair or barstool has been recalled by finding the model number printed above the barcode on a white sticker label under the seat.
