Deputies say Ford Jr. killed his wife at their Collingsworth Drive home in Penfield and then attempted to kill his mom at her Leibeck Road home in Riga. Police found her there unconscious and with life-threatening injuries before rushing her to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Neighbors are shocked saying they never saw it coming.

"Never heard them arguing or anything like that," said Louie Flores, a Riga neighbor.

Flores said the son was over his mother's house quite often, leaving the impression that the two had a good relationship.

"I thought it would be cool to wake up and see his truck there and then, at 2 or 3 in the afternoon it's still there and I thought that's a pretty cool relationship," said Flores.

Another neighbor that lived right next door to Florence says he "never heard arguing" and that the attack comes as a shock.

"To have it happen right next door is hard to believe," said Larry Batz, neighbor.

Authorities say Ford Jr. took his own life at the Pennsylvania border in his car.

As for his mom, the only survivor, she remains in guarded condition at the hospital.
