New leadership is in place at the University of Rochester as Professor Richard Feldman begins his first day as interim president.

Former President Joel Seligman officially stepped down Wednesday. He resigned after the release of a report on sexual harassment accusations against Professor Florian Jaeger.

Jaeger was censured by the Faculty Senate earlier this week.

Back in January, Feldman issued a message to the campus community stating in part:

"The University of Rochester has an opportunity to be a model for other institutions, not just in the letter of our policies and procedures but in the spirit of our actions, measured by our respect for each other and our differences in a campus community that is safe and inclusive for all."

Feldman has served as dean of the university for the past 11 years.
