ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — There are a lot of changes coming for who could represent many of you — to let your voice be heard in Albany.
As we approach the new legislative year, Democrats need just two seats for a supermajority in the New York State Senate. A supermajority would allow Democrats to override any vetoes by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
In a recent report by NNY 360, Republican leaders acknowledged the new vacancies provide a challenge, though leaders were confident in future candidates.
Democratic leaders showed excitement towards the possibility of claiming the supermajority.
