New York registers historically low uninsured rate in 2018

ALBANY N.Y. (WHEC) — NY State of Health announced that New York's uninsured rate reached its lowest recorded point ever in 2018.

According to a survey from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, New York's uninsured rate came in at 4.7% last year.

The survey also showed a reduction in the percentage of uninsured New Yorkers aged 18 to 64.

The state has reduced its number of uninsured by 1.2 million since 2010.
