NEW YORK (WHEC) — The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles is warning the public of a text message phishing scam that is trying to get ahold of your information.
The NYS DMV says a suspicious text message was sent out Saturday morning claiming to be from the DMV and asking recipients to update their contact information by clicking a link.
SCAM ALERT: If you received a suspicious text message this morning claiming to be from the DMV and asking you to update your contact information, it did NOT come from us. Please delete it and do not provide any personal information.

The NYS DMV says that this was not sent out by them and to delete the message immediately.
