New York’s DOT is hiring snowplow drivers: Here’s how to apply

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Yes, it’s just the turn of fall, but we all know winter is coming, and like many businesses across the state, the New York State Department of Transportation is looking to hire.

After seeing signs pop up around town saying "Help Keep New York Safe-Plow Drivers Wanted" News10NBC checked overnight, and there are several plow driver positions still available.

The DOT prefers people who have a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), which is a specific license needed to drive larger trucks. However, there are trainee positions available to help those who don’t have a CDL get one.
