NEWARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — A woman was arrested following an investigation into a local dognapping case.

Truffles, a 1-year-old Shih Tzu, was taken out of a car parked in Roseland Plaza in Canandaigua Sunday afternoon.

Investigators tracked the dog down Tuesday at the home of 30-year-old Kelly Price in Newark.

Price allegedly took Truffles from her owner's unlocked car.  She told investigators she thought the dog was left alone in a hot car, but she never contacted the police.

Price is charged with petit larceny. She's due to appear in court at a later date.

Truffles is back with her owner.
