ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — This afternoon we have already seen some much-needed rainfall as showers and storms continue popping up on the News10NBC First Alert Doppler Radar.

We have already seen a severe thunderstorm warning in the viewing area, and the chance remains there through Saturday evening. Some of the storms have already produced some locally heavy rainfall and we do have the potential for some localized flooding or flash flooding. This is why the First Alert Weather Team has placed a Yellow Alert for this afternoon and evening.

Once the showers and storms pass we are looking at a drier overnight. A cold front will also pass tonight and behind the front the conditions will feel a bit less humid.

We'll start off Sunday morning with temperatures in the upper 60's with sunny skies and dry conditions. We do have a chance for an isolated shower to pop up in the afternoon hours on Sunday.

Everyone can expect highs to be in the lower 80's through Tuesday before the heat and humidity returns for next Wednesday through the extended forecast.
