It's a common theme in sports, but every player, coach and team wants to always improve, and that's absolutely the case for the Penfield girls soccer team.
"With every game we're improving, with every practice we're getting better as a team," says Penfield senior Rebecca Rolland.
Rebecca is in her fourth year as a member of the Patriots soccer team, and if she and her team continue to improve, it could become a very special year. Last year Rebecca and the Patriots reached the Sectional title game.
"This year we know how it felt last year to lose,” says Rebecca. “We have the teamwork, we have the hard work and we know how to do it."
Rebecca's soccer career will continue in college, as the National Honor Society member is committed to play soccer at Siena and study actuarial science.
"When I went to Siena I looked around campus and met the coach and felt like it was the best place for me."
The best place for Rebecca right now is scoring goals for Penfield.
Congratulations to Rebecca Rolland, the News10NBC Scholar Athlete of the Week.
