(WHEC) -  New York's limitations on sports gambling may be paying big dividends for one of our neighboring states.

According to NJ Online Gambling, new research shows that New Yorkers account for a remarkable 40 percent of the retail betting at the FanDuel Sportsbook at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey.

For Atlantic City casino's, New Yorkers' share of sports betting was 10 percent with Monmouth Park gaining 8 percent from Empire State residents.

That is a total of $179 million in wagers by New Yorkers in New Jersey in 2019.
