The NRA is pushing back against Governor Cuomo's new gun proposal, the "Red Flag" bill.

The "Red Flag" gun protection bill would allow parents, teachers or school administrators to petition a judge to remove guns from the homes of troubled students.

Wednesday Cuomo rode in a school bus on Long Island and in the Bronx to build support for the bill's passage.

He called the measure "Common sense."

In a statement Cuomo would say, "The NRA is once again showing its true colors by coming out against a common-sense measure to prevent school shootings and save lives. The NRA has opposed every single gun safety measure we have put forward in New York because the only thing they care about is selling more guns. When the NRA is coming after you, you know you're doing something right. I have never backed down to the NRA at any point in my life, and I don't plan to start now."
