CANISTEO, N.Y. (WHEC) — The internet has been lighting up over this "intense" standoff with New York State Police in Steuben County.

Troopers say they responded to a call for a horse wandering on a snowy road in the Town of Canisteo. Upon arrival, they found the horse all bundled up for the winter weather standing in the middle of the road and unwilling to move.

The trooper tried luring it away with some alfalfa but the horse was more interested in licking salt off their patrol car.

The state police posted a picture of the episode on its Facebook page.
