ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) - Since the city will be in the path of totality, the Rochester Museum & Science Center is thinking ahead by hosting an all-day planning conference on Monday for the solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.

The museum has invited consultant Janet Ivey, one of the principal managers of eclipse-related programming for the city of Nashville which made the most of the 2017 total solar eclipse.

Topics to be covered will include: educational programs, logistics, tourism, law enforcement and government.

The conference is intended for local businesses and organizations and will start at 8 a.m.
