Ontario County man arrested after months-long drug investigation

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC)- An Ontario County man has been arrested after a months-long investigation into drug sales in the county.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says 29-year-old James J. Murray of Clifton Springs was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance on Tuesday by the county's Special Investigations Unit. The arrest came after a search was executed by investigators and the OCSO SWAT Team on Murray's current residence in Manchester.

During the search, officers found heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an unloaded handgun. 

Murray was arraigned at Ontario County CAP and bail was set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond. Additional charges are pending and will be presented to the grand jury.
