There has been a significant drop in opioid prescriptions filled in New York State.
Excellus BlueCross BlueShield issued a new report Thursday. Figures show nationwide that opioid prescriptions went down 29-percent from 2013-2017.
New York had the third lowest prescription rate during that time at 35-percent.
Health experts say the findings prove that New York doctors are making great progress in fighting the drug epidemic.
