PENFIELD, N.Y. (WHEC) -- Monroe County Sheriff's deputies report an investigation in the area of Rochester Christian School on Embury Road Thursday morning.
Deputies say the school was on lockdown. It's since moved into lockout mode.
No one was injured.
Deputies, a SWAT vehicle, and Department of Environmental Conservation officers responded to the area surrounding the school on Thursday.
Investigators say a call to 911 reporting shots fired near the school prompted their response.
The spouse of a teacher told News10NBC investigative reporter Jennifer Lewke that deputies are conducting a room-to-room sweep of the school.
Deputies believe that the reported shots fired heard came from hunters in the area, but have not confirmed that information.
The investigation into the case remains ongoing.
