CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Pittsford man is accused of using a social media app to entice sex from a teenager.

Canandaigua Police say 33-year-old David Alva is charged with second-degree attempted rape after he used the app "Whisper" to entice sex from what he believed to a 14-year-old child.

It turned out to be an undercover officer from the Canandaigua Police Department.

Investigators say further charges are pending against Alva. He's being held in the Ontario County Jail.

Earlier Monday, deputies announced the arrest of 29-year-old Nicholas Heberle. The Ontario, Wayne County man is accused of telling a 14-year-old girl on a messaging app that he wanted to have sex with her and described various sex acts. It turns out, Heberle was actually chatting with an undercover officer.
