Pittsford man charged with DWI after crash

MENDON, N.Y. (WHEC) — Deputies say a Pittsford man was drunk when he went off the road, hit several signs and a guardrail, and crashed into a utility pole. 

It happened on Monroe Street near Rush-Lima Road in Mendon around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say 40-year old William Gasser was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. 

He's facing a DWI charge.

The crash damaged two utility poles and brought down wires. National Grid is on the scene to fix them.
