IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Irondequoit Police Department arrested the second suspect in a series of tip jar thefts at local eateries.

Deputies located 28-year-old Shane Hutt at the Home Depot after an employee spotted him in the story. He fed the scene on foot, but deputies captured him a short time later in the area.

Deputies say Hutt stole tip jars from the Finger Lakes Coffee Roasters in Pittsford on Aug. 18 and Pattaya Thai in Penfield on Aug. 19.

He's facing charges of resisting arrest and two counts of petit larceny. He was turned over to Irondequoit Police to face pending charges.

Deputies say he had three outstanding warrants from other local jurisdictions—two for petit larceny and one for the unauthorized use of a vehicle without the owner's consent.

Hutt is being held at the Monroe County Jail on the warrants.

Irondequoit Police arrested Marissa Stewart last week for petit larceny in two alleged incidents at Ridge Donut and Thai Mii Up.

Eight locations in total have reported similar tip jar thefts.
